Drakut il Vendicatore plot
Drakut, a gypsy returning from foreign wars, rescues Princess Irina from the men who attacked her carriage. However, she tells him that she is a maid in the service of Princess Irina. Meanwhile, quarrels arise between the gypsy tribe to which Drakut belongs and the local kingdom. Nicholas, Irina's father, runs his country with the best of intentions but is often manipulated by the evil and ambitious Grand Duke, Atanas. The latter causes Drakut's mother, Queen of the Gypsies, to be burned as a witch. Drakut wrongly blames Irina for this act because he thinks he has never met the princess. Atanas then also kills Nicholas and accuses Drakut of having killed the man. Is the truth yet to come out?
