Avenging Angelo plot

"Her life is his job."

Frankie Delano is the right-hand man of mob boss Angelo Allighieri. When his boss is murdered by an old enemy, Frankie flees to Angelo's daughter Jennifer's house, believing she will be the next target. However, there is one problem: the girl in question does not know that the deceased mafiosi was her father, because she was given up for adoption at an early age. Frankie has promised Angelo before his death to protect his only daughter, and Jennifer reluctantly lets him into her life. But after a failed attack at a department store, the gravity of the situation begins to sink in to Jennifer. From that moment on, she knows that she can only stay alive by giving her enemies a taste of her own medicine...

A very nice, sympathetic film, which would only have been better as a raw thriller with some comic relief here and there.

It's now very much between a romantic comedy with a mafia theme and a real mafia film with some comedic moments. The film does have a good soundtrack.

Unfortunately, this is the last film in which Anthony Quinn makes an appearance.

Stallone's failures.

Anyway, this is one of them.

The story is standard junk and doesn't get off the ground, as do the lame jokes and the attempt at romance. The acting also sucks and the viewer is the victim. Everything happens at an excruciatingly slow pace.

Mediocre.

Where Gibson, Seagal and Willis deliver rubbish in their twilight years, Stallone has something bordering on that with this film about 20 years ago.

I thought I had seen everything by Stallone, but while watching it became clear why I had never noticed this one....

As previously described, this is certainly not an action/crime, more of a rom-com, although the romance is at a very low level and there is little to laugh about...

Overly hysterical woman, stupid "crooks", hilarious situations.

The acting is certainly not top-notch, but if you like the genre, you can pass it.

Mediocre story, enough to watch a maximum of once.

Perhaps accurately portraying the genre would help avoid disappointment.

5.5
