Shade is a nice gamble or poker movie with a nice atmosphere and a solid story. Various plot twists that are inextricably linked to such a story ensure that you as a viewer will not fall short. The tricks with marked cards at such a high level and with a high betting limit are remarkable, but apparently only a detail. It shouldn't spoil the fun.

Entertaining film with a poor story, but due to the smooth pace in combination with the playing time, it never drags anywhere. Also atmospheric images of Las Vegas, with a fitting ending.

More than fine binoculars, 3.5*.

Nice film with a strong cast and more than enough twists to keep the viewer fascinated until the final scene. But those more-than-sufficient twists actually become a bit too much at a certain point, and partly because of that it is difficult to really feel involved with the characters, because whoever is the scammer in the first scene can already do it in the second. be the victim. There's nothing wrong with that, but if you juggle not only with the cards but also with the characters, that excess is harmful to me, so that after the last round I think: well, it will be, oh yes, these mutual relationships once again mixed up and turned upside down, the director/writer pulls on a few threads again and the puppets start convulsing again... Well a compliment to Stallone, who looks great in his chic suit and as a cunning player comes across as surprisingly convincing.
