Vanessa Kirby has, sort of, addressed rumours that she has been cast as Sue Storm in Marvel's upcoming Fantastic Four reboot.
Now that the Fantastic Four are set to enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the casting rumour mill has went into overdrive. Alongside Margot Robbie, Kirby is believed to be one of the favourites to portray Sue Storm.
When asked at the premiere of Napoleon about those casting rumours, she responded:
“I don’t know, you’ll have to ask them. I would be very honoured to join.”
Kirby was asked a similar question at the premiere of Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One and provided a similar answer months ago.
"I love the MCU universe and yeah, it would be an honour to join them," she said.
"And I really love Kevin (Feige, Marvel Studios CEO). I think he's a visionary. All I can say is that it would be an honour to join them (the MCU) in any element."
In March of 2023, reports emerged that Robbie, Adam Driver, Paul Mescal and Daveed Diggs had been cast as Sue Storm, Reed Richards, Johnny Storm and Ben Grimm respectively.
However, there has been no official confirmation on casting as of yet.
Glenn Howerton as Mr Fantastic?
Glenn Howerton says he would gladly take a call from Marvel regarding a potential casting in Fantastic Four as Reed Richards.
His link to the project comes from the fact that Fantastic Four's director Matt Shakman has previously worked with the actor on It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
"Somehow, in my mind, there’s no chance that anything that I will ever do will be watched by people, and I don’t know what that is, I think it’s this sort of perpetual underdog thing that I feel, which makes no sense," he told The Movie Dweeb.
"But, no, look, it would be super fun, and obviously, the director, Matt Shakman, is a very close friend and an absolutely incredible director, so it’d be super fun to work with him again. But ain't nobody called me about that yet, but I would accept that phone call."
John Krasinski made a cameo as Richards in Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness, but it is unclear at this point whether he will return for the role or whether it was a one-time gig. Numerous actors have been linked with Richards, including Howerton, Driver, Timothee Chalamet, Penn Badgley, Andrew Lincoln, Diego Luna and Tom Ellis.
