Wel vreemd dat een Terminator of een Roy Batty dan wel toegelaten worden. Alleen omdat ze een menselijk uiterlijk hebben? Raar criterium zou dat zijn, waar zit het verschil dan buiten het vorige? Boven heeft HAL een stem, gedaan door een voice-actor, dus je kan ook niet zeggen dat er helemaal niks menselijks aan is. Om nog maar te zwijgen over animatiepersonages en dieren. Doet HAL onder voor een getekende leeuw (Scar)?

Omdat je hem niet mag of omdat hij volgens jou niet aan het criterium voldoet?

Omdat hij uit complete rationalisatie handelt. Wat voor een bad guy ben je als je niet intrisiek evil bent, maar gewoon handelt uit een universele logica.

In dat geval moeten Scar (The Lion King), Ursula (The Little Mermaid), e.d. er ook uit...

En Pinhead, Djinn, Freddy Krueger...

Dat zijn tenminste levende wezens en echte bad guys in plaats van een stom geprogrammeerd computertje.

Ok, HAL niet dan, en de rest laten we zo.

Het criterium is dan dat de bad guy menselijke gelijkenissen moet hebben, met uitzondering van animatiefilms.

Eigenlijk gewoon pure logica.

Prima definitie voor de bad guys.

En inderdaad pure logica.

Dat dus.

En laat "slecht zijn" nu net met moraliteit te maken hebben, een (bijna?) uitsluitend menselijke eigenschap.

HAL is louter nadelig voor ons, een piste die enkel gebaseerd is op één of ander doemdenken over computers en AI.

BEn jij niet gewoon tegen HAL omdat je het een slechte film vindt? Met je 1 ster?

Trouwens zo kan je wel aan de gang blijven. Zo kan je over Ilsa ook redeneren: het was een wetenschapster. Zo rationeel allemaal.
