Hitchcock, Tati, Welles en Malle waren in topvorm en er was zelfs een vrij goede Poolse film te vinden in 1958. Maar daar staan een lichtelijk tegenvallende Kurosawa, een suffe Oscarwinnaar en een gigantisch oubollige Nederlandse komedie tegenover. Toch een overwegend goed gevoel.
