Fasandræberne plot
In 1994, young twins are found in a summer cottage. They appear to have been brutally murdered. A series of clues leads in the direction of a group of students from a nearby boarding school. However, the case is closed when a local outsider pleads guilty and is convicted of the murders. When the case lands on Carl Mørck's desk 20 years later, he quickly realizes that something is terribly wrong. When Carl and his assistant Assad investigate, they are led by an old distress call from a desperate girl who seems to know the secrets of the murders.

Excellent sequel to Kvinden i Buret (2013). The duo Fares Fares and Nikolaj Lie Kaas have clearly grown in their role, especially the latter puts in a very strong acting performance. The budget also seems a bit larger so that Fasandræberne also looks a bit more spectacular and beautiful as its predecessor.
The story contains more than enough tension that is slowly but surely increased, although the reality (for me the only downside to the film) is lost sight of.Especially the fact how quickly Kimmie showed up at Ulrik's house. very unlikely.
For the rest, however, this is an excellent thriller that kept me captivated for the full length. Already looking forward to the sequel.
By the way, keep wondering why the film is actually called the Pheasant Killers.

The Pheasant Killers continues in the same steady fashion as part 1 in this film series. A new (murder) case presents itself in which the film feels a lot more grim and bloody than part 1. The mystery is built up nicely again and the story structure where the present is told with the flashbacks is just a concept that works well here. Curiosity is once again aroused and you want to know what has happened and who is responsible for this.
Still, I found the case itself slightly less fun than part 1, where this film is just a little less interesting, especially in the last 20 minutes. In addition, you will already understand a little faster here how the fork is in the stem. It is mainly a filling in of the motives and the loose ends.
I also expect some more development in the characters, because you don't really get to know Carl and Assad this way. A good example is that loose end Carl has with his son (or what his stepson is, can't remember exactly). A ball is thrown somewhere after half an hour, only to never come back to it.
As a detective film again very solid and it doesn't make a lot of mistakes. I do expect more depth in the characters as the series progresses. Assad, in particular, is a character we don't know anything about yet, except for his favorite lunch shop.
