"Proof is the Burden"
After a fatal accident in which the perpetrator drove off, Deputy Chief Prosecutor, Mitch Brockden (Dominic Cooper), must prosecute suspect Clinton Davis (Samuel L. Jackson) for the crime he committed. Mitch tries to dismiss the case which, due to insufficient evidence, succeeds. However, after the trial, Mitch realizes he made a wrong decision. Filled with guilt, he goes in search of the man he has acquitted.

This film undoubtedly deserves better than the scores it has received so far. A public prosecutor finds himself in trouble for a minor offense (well, minor) when he commits hit-and-run, leaving behind a man who is about to be murdered. This is followed by an ingenious cat and mouse game with the accused (Samuel Jackson). Jackson once again puts in a hell of a performance and Cooper also manages to convince in his role. It gets a deserved 4 stars from me

Self-righteous District Attorney Mitch Brockden [Dominic Cooper] drives an ex-con to death. When the police find enough evidence to designate Clinton Davis [Samuel L. Jackson] as the perpetrator, Mitch is tasked with indicting him. Remorse of conscience leads him to let the case go and Clinton goes free. But that decision comes at a cost in this mediocre thriller with a routine Jackson and a story that's a third-rate take on Double Jeopardy.
