22 Jump Street plot
"They're not 21 anymore."
After making their way through high school, big changes take place for officers Schmidt (Jonah Hill) and Jenko (Channing Tatum) when they go undercover at a local college this time. But when Jenko encounters his kindred soul on the football team and Schmidt infiltrates the arts club, they begin to question their partnership. Their job is not only to solve the case, but also to endure trials that will show whether they can enter into a "mature" relationship. If the two adolescents can grow into "real" men, this college life might just be the best thing that ever happened to them.

We Jump Street, and we 'bout to jump in yo ass.
After being very enthusiastic about the first part, but going to see part 2 as soon as possible, and this one did not disappoint me again. Tatum and Hill are once again a magical duo together, who manage to get many laughs on their side. The sequel is actually of the same level as its predecessor in total, although the first half is slightly stronger here, and the final is slightly less strong than in the first part.
This is mainly because the film gets a bit too long-winded in its finale, and also just becomes less funny. The emphasis here is more on the action and it is all just a little too big than the film would do well. Some scenes are also too long, such as a fight scene between Mercedes and Schmidt that should have been cut a lot more. This is the only drawback I could find compared to its predecessor, because what is more positive here is the first part of the film. The percentage of genius jokes is just a little higher here, and the self-mockery regarding sequels that is put down here is very well done. This could easily have thwarted production, but that is not the case here.
If I'm going to rate this sequel in its entirety, I'll end up with the same rating I gave its predecessor. Some people may be annoyed by the fact that there is little innovation to see here, but on the other hand, it is never wrong to see more of something that has worked before, provided this trick is not repeated too often. Now I didn't think it was an issue in this part, and I was able to see a comedy again where I was able to laugh heartily a few times. Recommended!

"Do the same thing as last time."
This is said a few times in the movie. The film's self-conscious approach that it's more or less a repeat of the first part drags you through the film through the fun jokes that come out of it. And yet there is a lot of news here. The beginning is really brilliant with Sleepy, the Mexican Wolverine. Jonah Hill is great in this scene. And Tatum plays on that very nicely by doing the worst Mexican accent ever. It also helps to have Peter Stormare in your film of course. The basic story and plot are almost the same as in 21 Jumps Street. But the budget is a lot higher this time and you can see that in the film. There is a lot going on in the film and everything is set up a lot bigger. Hill and Tatum are great again here. But the directors have also chosen the rest of the cast perfectly. It also seems as if the scenes were written specifically for those actors. Helps a lot in conveying jokes and situations, the "Are you trying to kiss me?" scene is a good example of this. Just like in 21 Jump Street, everything flows smoothly and everything falls into place. Done the same thing differently and just as fun as the first part.

Watched again last week. Saw it in the cinema at the time, and is still funny when reviewed.
It is a nice sequel to the first part, with the same scenario, the film is self-conscious as a sequel and that makes the film more fun. Hill and Tatum have good chemistry, and the supporting roles (Ice Cube, Peter Stormare) are well cast. The jokes are generally successful and there is some good action in it too. Although it looks a lot like the first part, I like this one a lot more. There are few negatives, looks great, and there is a lot to laugh about again. Few sequels get away with rehashing the first movie as well, and even surpass it, 4.0!
