Brought this one along and tried it without expectations. Hmm, I don't really know what to say. It wasn't really a comedy, but it wasn't a real gangster movie either.

The cast certainly did not do a bad job and the music was also great, but there was something that the film lacked to make it a real winner.

He looked away quickly, but the film will not really stay with me, it was not special enough for that.

Mediocre kidnapping film. Barely laughed for a comedy, except for the lighter tone at the end.

Substandard Elmore Leonard film adaptation that doesn't come close to films like Get Shorty and Jackie Brown. Actually, plot and atmosphere are most similar to the movie Ruthless People from 1986, but that too was much better than this meager work. There is little wrong with the cast, but the film is hardly funny and / or exciting and the characters remain far at a distance. I actually only really had to laugh once, when Jennifer Aniston looks in horror at the large collection of Nazi memorabilia in the house where she is locked up and John Hawkes says to her: "What, you don't like history?".
