"be sure that your umbrella is upside down" ... "there will be pennies from heaven for you and me"

Beautiful song And with a good choreography and a rain of glittering golden pennies.

By the way, I think all the choreographies are great, like the tap dance number of the children at school and the dancing couple, for the film image with the same dancing couple, and that they all participate in the black and white film image (almost impossible to explain like this, you have to see it ). Beautiful!

A time of economic depression, where people dance and sing, good for balance

The atmosphere of the thirties is convincingly portrayed. The beautiful, sharp image caught my eye and then it is nice to look at the very well-maintained backgrounds, clothing and locations.

The music is also very nice, a great soundtrack.

A film with tragedy and romance and with emotion. Good interpersonal dialogues that really come through through good acting. A film to my taste.

Great depression musical drama. I thought it was good to do.
There is something to note about the film: the story can easily be called a jumble. Pennies from Heaven is also a reworking of an earlier miniseries with Bob Hoskins.

Those who want to see Steve Martin in a more dramatic role, those who want to see Walken dance in underwear and those who are quite nostalgic for the 30s can still enjoy this. The biggest plus is especially the wonderfully synchronized choreographies that bring the culture of that time back to life. The dance numbers performed are absolutely the trump card of the film.

The plot tries to capture the need for escapism of that time; the depression era was a bleak time, and all people had were their dreams. Arthur tries to run a record store, but mostly dreams of romance and happiness. Can you blame him? He trades his frigid wife for a kindergarten teacher, but his fantasies turn against him and reality keeps catching up with him.
