"This Band was Punk, before Punk was Punk"

Before Bad Brains, the Sex Pistols or even the Ramones, there was a band called Death. Before punk, three teenage brothers formed a band in their spare room in the early 1970s. They started with a bunch of local gigs and even made a single in hopes of getting a record deal. But this was the era of the Motown and emerging disco. Record companies found Death's music -and the band name- too intimidating. The group never got a fair chance and fell apart before they even finished an album.
