Oscar Grant was a 22-year-old Bay Area resident who loved his friends, was generous to strangers, and struggled to share the truth with his beautiful daughter's mother. Very good movie.
While the sketch of family life and the character of the main character can be a bit long with apparently unimportant scenes, it really does not disturb, and this mainly due to the convincing portrayal of Michael B.Jordan.
Afterwards, the filmmaker is quite busy creating a suitable atmosphere, in which you can feel the impending drama, and he certainly succeeded in this.
Very good camera brand at the incident.
Realistic and appropriately emotional.

Powerful film about Oscar Grant, a young man who was shot dead on a platform during New Years Eve 2008 by a police officer, who mistook his gun for a taser. Director Coogler does not make the mistake of making Grant some sort of saint, and provides a realistic portrait of an angry young man who, despite all his shortcomings, wants to get back on the right path. For himself, his family and his mother.
His life is not too special, but for three quarters of the film Fruitvale Station is an atmospheric glimpse into Grant's life. Perfectly acted by Michael B. Jordan, who is supported by strong acting from Diaz, Spencer, Durand and Neal. A life has come to an end too soon. The manner in which shows that there is still a lot to change in polarized America.

Semi-successful.
Coogler was 27 years old at the time when he put this film together, but he really isn't a new Thomas Anderson. The biggest problem I have with this movie is the drama itself. The incident itself is intense, but the drama doesn't do Oscar Grant justice.
Especially because it's all very distant and boring. Coogler tries to give it a rougher edge and make it all a bit more realistic, but really doesn't succeed. I don't like to use the word, but this was just plain boring. I can hardly imagine that I can watch these kinds of drama films if they last 150 minutes, for example.
B. Jordan is just convincing and does a great job in his role. The rest is virtually invisible and B. Jordan is the only one who really knows how to stand out. Too bad the drama is turned on really strong, and I don't believe things like Katie he happened to see in the store the other day recording the incident.
I can't take it seriously when it comes to a true story. That certainly includes the slightly stronger moments. The dog is the ultimate example of this, should I regain sympathy for Grant. I'm really sorry about what happened to him, but I just don't believe this distant stuff.
The last part is definitely the best of the film. It's exciting, the raw edge has added value and the film finally manages to break free. Too bad the shocking incident itself is actually over very quickly too. But it gives enough impact.
Tight enough, then, for B. Jordan and the last 20 strong 20 minutes. The rest was boring and too distant.
