"Return to the sea."
After the joy of the birth of their daughter Melody, Ariel and Erik face a threat. Ursula's vengeful sister, Morgana, keeps Melody from discovering her mermaid heritage. But Melody eventually ventures into the sea and becomes a pawn in Morgana's plot to rule the Seven Seas. Now Ariel must reunite her childhood friends Sebastian, Flounder and Jutter to save her daughter.

Mixed feelings about this. This is mainly due to the redundancy. Not only in some scenes (that bit of slap-stick with the penguins) but actually the whole movie itself isn't necessary, if Ariel just tells her daughter the parentage. It's truly a mystery to me why she wouldn't. And that also causes irritation if she gets the chance but doesn't take it. Furthermore, the animation is nice, voice work fine and the finale even quite decent. Melody is also a nice protagonist who mainly has to contend with a poorly developed film, because the basis in itself is not that bad. The songs are sometimes nice, sometimes very weak, but at least they don't irritate. 2.0*.

Exciting surprising film that fuses the old with the new. It's also nice that the old figures have grown up, bone remains a sweetheart! Still, part 1 is more fun.

Not such a special sequel to the first part. It's been years since I watched it, sometime in my childhood, so I don't remember exactly what happened to Ursula. However, her sister Morgana is one of the biggest low points of this film, while I did 'like' Ursula.
Bone is no longer as we know him from the past. Of course everyone grows up, but the cuteness factor has completely disappeared, which is a shame. Sebastian, on the other hand, has remained the same. The songs did not appeal to me at all, where in part 1 you have 'under the sea', which lingers nicely, this film does not have a single song that sticks. Even now that I think about it, I can't even remember a song after I watched it this afternoon. I even thought about just turning the movie off again real quick. That first song was very long-winded and boring.
The story is also quite nice and I also think that it could have been a nice movie with that. However, it has too many negatives for me. In the end, not a very large insufficient, 2 *, especially because the story is nice and Melody is a nice newcomer in the Disney world.
