A Midsummer Night's Sex Comedy plot
It's time for love and magic when inventor Andrew and his wife Adrian host a country wedding for the pretentious philosopher Dr. Leopold and his young fiancée Ariel. The arrival of Andrew's best friend, the lecherous Dr. Maxwell Jordan, and his voluptuous nurse Dulcy pave the way for tricky temptations, unlikely couples and enchanted chaos. After a while, everyone has flip-flops with everyone.

Funny and wacky comedy from Allen in which the characters revolve around each other in a romantic sense, without much else happening. As usual, it's all about the dialogues, which vary from sharp to very witty. This film also fits in seamlessly with Allen's oeuvre, you don't have to expect any surprises.

Nice film in which three couples spend a weekend in a house in the countryside. A light-hearted relationship comedy that doesn't have too much going for it. The dialogues may be a little less sharp and funny compared to other Woody Allen films, but it does look easy. This first collaboration between him and Mia Farrow is certainly not his best.

If you approach it properly, such a triangle of love affairs and desire is quite a fascinating spectacle. And it was. I do appreciate Woody Allen in front of and behind the camera. A bit talkative at times when he overanalyzes everything - especially relationships - but it certainly remains entertaining and fascinating.
Relationship, love and sex are the common thread through his films and almost his entire oeuvre. He always knows how to make something interesting out of it without really being repetitive. With the small cast he provides fun intermezzos with a funny note here and there.
Not all that impressive, but certainly entertaining. A nice Woody Allen snack!
