Burt Wonderstone (Steve Carell) and his sidekick Anton Marvelton (Steve Buscemi) are at the top of the Las Vegas entertainment industry, until street performer Steve Gray (Jim Carrey) makes his appearance. With the most improbable magic tricks, Steve effortlessly takes the torch. Burt is punched by his manager Doug Munny (James Gandolfini) and finds himself in a bind. With the advice of his great role models Rance Holloway (Alan Arkin) and Dom (Brad Garret) and a hefty appointment from his assistant Jane (Olivia Wilde), Wonderstone is working on his comeback.

Movies about magicians are always one step ahead of me, so I had to try this one. I actually enjoyed it a lot. The film isn't always funny (although I had to laugh a few times), but I still had a lot of fun with it.
The cast was on a roll and there was even a small part for David Copperfield. The music was also nice.
What a low average (2.77 
), I highly recommend it!

Film that mainly relies on the cast and the funny magic acts. To be honest, the story surrounding these magic acts is not that much and is also quite bland. Despite the fact that Jim Carrey doesn't have a real lead role in this film, I had to laugh the most about him and especially his absurd magic acts. The cast is also quite impressive and they all do a good job, especially of course lead actor Steve Carell. Of course, Olivia Wilde in particular took care of the visual aspect, but the beginning (actually the best part of the film) in the beautiful artificial city of Las Vegas also looked beautiful. Nice to have seen, but with an impressive cast like this one should have done more.
PS the music (songs) also made this film look away.

Reasonable film in which a magician duo falls apart after years of collaboration. The film lacks a good line in the story and is therefore somewhat fragmentary. The humor is often bland and funny at the same time (especially nice ending). Of the cast with quite a few well-known names, Jim Carrey knows how to steal the scenes in a supporting role. A narrow 3.0 stars.
