The Joy Luck Club plot

Four Chinese friends get together regularly to play a game and catch up. When one of them dies, her daughter is asked to take her place. The mothers were raised in China, their daughters are American. This regularly leads to clashes and misunderstanding. But because the mothers tell about their childhood, this is broken.
