Wadjda plot
"I want you to be the happiest person in the world."
Wadjda is a 10-year-old girl who lives in a suburb of Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia. Although she lives in a conservative world, Wadjda likes to have fun. She is enterprising and always pushes the boundaries of what is possible. After an argument with her friend Abdullah, a neighborhood boy with whom she should not play, Wadjda sees a beautiful green bicycle for sale. She desperately wants to own this bike so she can beat Abdullah in a race. But Wadjda's mother won't allow this for fear of repercussions from a society that sees cycling as dangerous for girls.
