"The height of adventure."
While climbing a mountain, Gabe can't stop a friend from falling some 4,000 feet. A year later, Gabe is asked to return to the same mountain to rescue a group of stranded climbers. However, these people are criminals looking for three briefcases of money and need an experienced climber to lead them to the money.

A big action blast in the 90s, of course, but in the meantime perhaps outdated, at least that's what you might expect. That is partly true, such films are no longer made. The exaggerated action, fat villain, hero with issues, characters with little depth but who still have your sympathy and no pretensions. Delicious!
Perhaps because of the often pretentious adventure films with half-baked attempts at character depth that we often see today, perhaps even more fun than 20 years ago (eg 'Everest').

Seen maybe for the 8th time and again in a 4k transfer. I thought it's snowing in the Netherlands, time for an ice-cold movie. Keep liking it with a recording you won't soon forget. Also beautifully filmed in such depth. Okay, sometimes credibility is hard to find. Climb up with a t-shirt in short sleeves or take a swim in the icy water under the ice. But good story and action are well balanced with a nice ending, yes again in depth!
