There wouldn't be much to laugh about otherwise.

Just a very cheap rip-off of Paranormal Activities, if possible even worse. The acting was really nothing to behold, there isn't a single scare that works and they don't get any further than some broken camera effects.

I can still imagine some so bad it's good films, but this one really doesn't fall under that category, it all colors far too much within the lines for that. It's nothing more than a cheap ripoff of a lousy film, so I can't say much about it in terms of grades.

Not a single positive point to be found in this film.

0.5*

It's 1998 and Douglas [Jason Williams] and Virginia Benson [Amy van Horne] buy the dreaded house at 112 Ocean Drive in Amityville because for once they can't get anything better. There is a rebellious teenage daughter [Nadine Crocker], an annoying brother [Devin Clark] who thinks he has to film everything (and is an excuse for the lousy camera work) and a cute little sister [Gracie Largent] with an invisible boyfriend. “Better a good steal than a bad idea,” Meed must have thought, because he steals scenes from, among others, The Blair Witch Project and Paranormal Activity, although of course he doesn't make anything of it . The last 10 minutes are (thankfully) unintentionally funny.

Six years after the remake, The Amityville Haunting brought a "continuation" of the horror series in question and marked the passage for an innumerable amount of cheap stuff. Director Geoff Meed takes on the task of directing a new part on behalf of production company The Asylum, but it has not become much more than an extremely cheap film. Idiot characters move into a haunted house and the son then decides, for some inexplicable reason, to take the camera everywhere. In between, a series of transparent horror effects, poorly designed ghosts and people who drop dead every now and then (unintentionally hilarious). The family bickering looks somewhat recognizable due to the not without merit acting by Jason Williams and some night images from the security camera look quite ominous, but otherwise the content of this film is not worth it. If you can't follow the meaningless plot, help is on the way! Our little hero decides after each day to give the viewer a verbal summary of the extremely sensational events.
