The last of the "second set" of Amity films.

Very happy that they made a reboot, although there are apparently no further sequels. Like some of the previous parts, the curse is now in a different object.

There are some funny ideas in it, where events in the dollhouse have an effect on events in the real house. The execution is poor, but the idea is nice.

Furthermore, very poor acting again, and visually nothing to experience at all. Typical third-rate horror work, which actually applies to the entire series (except the original and the remake).

1 good idea does not make a good film, especially if it is so poorly developed.

Disappointing ending. The atmosphere from the earlier parts is back and the film also has a few nice scenes (I really liked those flashes of the devil and that other thing), but it never becomes catchy and that is mainly thanks to a couple of annoying characters. That father in particular is a terrible klutz. Ultimately, the Amityville series is a very entertaining one, especially in the beginning, and has its best part in Amityville 1992: It's About Time.

Director Steve White only directed one film in his career and then called it a day from the production chair. It seems that the Amityville series gradually became a whole where one could just feel what it is like to be a director in each film. In any case, this eighth part fits in seamlessly with the average level, only this time a dollhouse is the object in which the ghosts wander around. Amityville fireplace, Amityville voodoo doll, Amityville piñata and Amityville zombie dad are also briefly reviewed to spice things up, but all the fanfare does not disguise the fact that the contents are really an indescribably big mess. The final phase goes so far over the top that even the 90s cheese no longer has any charm, but the explosive progression is nevertheless entertaining and the ghost is present in full force. There's a lot going on in this film, but the chaotic scenario proves that the remake was desperately needed to bring back some actual quality. This is the first time for me that I have seen the same explosion for several minutes within a film.
