Takový Je Zivot plot
A laundress tries to keep her head above water for her family when her husband becomes unemployed. However, everything is against her: her husband, who is a coal worker, is fired; he is drinking and is drowning the pennies meant for the rent with the licentious Gert. The daughter is manicurist and is expecting a baby. She is fired for reprimanding a brash customer. When the neighbor's child plays with her, she tries to keep it from falling out of the window, but she knocks over her washtub, causing the child to fall anyway.
