Great movie in my opinion. Looks slick, high level suspense with a hint of horror/horror and in that sense a very nice prequel to the Alien series. Now I'm not really into sci-fi and I'm not into the Alien series either, although the first is a good movie and the second is nice too, but this movie really appealed to me. Of course it's such a typical movie with the usual 'do's' and 'don't' don't take off that mask, stay with the group, don't spawn that scary beast and don't get too close to a scary looking cocoon just to what to call.

Strong roles from Fassbender and Rapace, among others. Great movie, looks slick and suspenseful.

Revised at 4K yesterday. What a wonderful movie this is. Everything is so well put together and possibly the best sf movie ever made. He could have taken me half an hour longer. The ending may have been rushed a bit too quickly, but that's the only downside in an otherwise flawless film. I especially love the role of Noomi Rapace. Especially for a sf unique!

But also the images and sound are so beautifully rendered. Very nice at 2K, but the 4K is depicted even more beautifully. Color details sublime!! An absolute top movie for me. Too bad the sequel is a lot less, but yes.

Bad prequel/spin-off/whatever. Never looked beyond the second Alien movie, but I don't think those movies needed this kind of extra mythology or background. Not even if it was well portrayed, which is anything but the case in Prometheus. Ridley Scott is a craftsman and in terms of images this film is very beautiful. What is lacking in his later productions is inspiration, as is the case here. Nice to look at, but no substance at all. The script is really to cry and you want to see the entire crew die immediately. A solid cast has been gathered, but everyone is just playing on autopilot. Well, as an actor try to do something with a script like this. One stupid move follows another; those two dudes who are scared at first, but then 10 seconds later lie down and play cute with an alien is just 1 example of many. A film that takes itself so seriously should be more 'credible'.
