Ram Dass, Fierce Grace plot

In 1964, psychology professor Richard Alpert is fired from Harvard University, where he conducted a controversial and daring study of the influence of psychedelic drugs. Alpert leaves for India, where he delves further into spirituality and takes a new name: Ram Dass (Servant of God). When he wrote the groundbreaking esoteric book Be Here Now a few years later, in 1971, Ram Dass was hailed as a spiritual leader and enlightened mind around the world. Director Mickey Lemle made a moving portrait of the grandmaster, in which he alternates fascinating interviews with special archive material from the heyday of the hippie era.
