Nice!

I really liked the first hour. Coppola comes up with a very weird and strange movie. Some scenes seem to come almost from a Lynch movie (in the hotel with the clockmaker for example), others from a Stephen King book, supplemented with Coppola's own horror story.

Coppola comes up with a very nice mix of gothic horror and dashes of successful comedy. Val Kilmer may not be the best actor, but he is very suitable for his role here. Furthermore, Coppola works nicely with music and timing to create a very strange atmosphere.

Visually also absolutely worth it. Whining about digital photography tells me little above, I thought it looked very special and unique, especially during the night shots.

Too bad Coppola lets it slide a bit at the end of the film. I usually don't like the processing motif in horror films, which made the ending a lot less fun. Would have preferred it to be a bit more straight-forward, would have done the mystery justice.

Small blemish, but still a cool and unique movie. Without a doubt the best Coppola I've seen.

Very nice film by Coppola and a lot better than his last experimental expressions! I especially liked the atmosphere. Twixt has a bit of a typical Stephen King atmosphere, but expressed more experimentally. Fortunately, this is never carried through too much, which makes Twixt enjoyable to watch. Val Kilmer also stands out in a positive way. He plays a role that fits in nicely with his current situation as an actor. I can appreciate such self-reflection. The film also has a very good score!

Very questionable film this project called Twixt. The fact that Francis Ford Coppola is at the helm does not make it much better. Actually a very strange idea to know that Coppola worked on this. Twixt is vague, to summarize it in one word. It is actually a big experiment that did not come out well. The camera technique that is used is for example already a minus point, something that made me quickly lose interest in the film. I am also not a fan of the editing techniques that are used. I have to admit that it was a brave move to do it this way. Quite daring to approach it completely differently than is usual.

Val Kilmer plays quite poorly. He is also, in my opinion, a B-actor. The man seems a bit fatter than before and that ponytail reminds me of another actor with a B/C acting level (guess who). A completely replaceable actor. Another crucial point where the film fails to score. Furthermore, Kilmer's fellow actors are very uninteresting and the entire cast radiates a certain degree of amateurism.

Too bad Twixt isn't put together a bit better, because it certainly has potential. An atmosphere is created that is reminiscent of a Stephen King book. The story can simply be called interesting. The film's execution unfortunately does not do the story justice. There is also a dose of symbolism and mysticism that the film does not justify. Just like other viewers, I wonder: what the hell have I seen? It is a kind of web of vagueness that has no structure and leads nowhere. Missed opportunity for Coppola.
