Dream Demon plot
"Two women trapped in a savage nightmare..."
A woman is about to get married. When she spends the night in her old family home, she has strange visions. She sees her past, present and future in a kind of kaleidoscope. Without realizing it, she pulls an American tourist, with a difficult past herself, into her nightmares.

Very nice surprise.
The film immediately starts with a great opening scene in the church. After that it takes a while for it to really get going, but not too long. The nightmares get worse and scarier and the director knows how to convey that well in the film. Also the actors. They are all doing well, especially Timothy Spall has a great role.
The dream sequences are beautifully done and it is brought in such a way that at a certain point you no longer realize what is dream or reality in the film. That helps the tension quite a bit.
The atmosphere in the film is also nice and creepy, thanks in part to the good sound effects.
A solid 4* so far. If the few slow bits were not in it, it would certainly have become a 4.5 and with revision it is certainly in it.

Viva VHS!
But not really, because this magnetic cassette tape would have been better left covered in dust. Despite the fact that the fact is fun and some gore is quite nicely executed, the film takes itself way too seriously and the story quickly hits the wall. The acting doesn't stop there either.
