The War Lord plot
"He Battled Two Empires For The Love Of One Woman."
The Europe of the 11th century consists of a patchwork of feudal states, ruled by lords of nobility, who control not only their allotted domain, but also its inhabitants. Warlord Chrysagon de la Creux (Charlton Heston) travels on behalf of Duke William of Ghent to a remote region in Normandy, which is regularly ravaged by raids and pillaging by the Frisians. His mission is to protect the local Druid population, who still cling to pagan customs, against this and gain their trust. During a hunt he meets the peasant girl Bronwyn (Rosemary Forsyth), who will soon marry the humble peasant Marc (James Farentino).
