"The best date is with a dog!"
Mary, a cynical and frustrated music critic who never got over her failed marriage, refuses to love anyone again. She hates the beach and dogs and actually quite a lot of things that most people are crazy about. When her mother suffers a broken leg, she has to take her mother's lap dog from Wisconsin to Boston.
