Doc Hollywood. Didn't sound like my kind of movie, but my boyfriend wanted to watch it with me because he really likes it. The pig was the highlight of the movie for me, although Fox acted well too. I kept being amazed at how small that man is, if I were standing next to him he would come up to my navel. Harrelson is not inferior to Fox, he also provided some entertaining moments.

The film itself is quite nice, I did get a smile on my face a few times. Still, it's just not fun enough. Maybe I'll revisit it someday when I'm more focused.

This film is already twenty years old. For me it has quite a bit to do with youth sentiment in the meantime, and when I look at the whole thing now, the story falls over me like a warm blanket. That is also the strong point of the film, a really nice sweet feel-good movie.

Julie Warner contributes quite a bit to that, she must have been selected because she is the same size as Michael J, but she fits very well in this role. And so does the whole village with its hillbillies and yokels. Nice contrast to the emptiness of the big city and the fakeness of plastic surgery.

And still some really nice jokes that occasionally come in very surprising. Like the question "is that a star" to which Woody Harrelson says "no, it's Ted Danson".

Nice film in which a doctor is on his way to a new job in Hollywood, but in the meantime has car trouble in a small village. A predictable, yet charming romantic comedy. The small village and the inhabitants are nicely portrayed and the romance is also good.
