Gorillas in the Mist: The Story of Dian Fossey plot

High in the jungle of Rwanda, deep in the deep greenery, is a family of mountain gorillas. They relax and play in the filtered sunlight. A female squats near them, imitating their movements and pretending to chew leaves to be accepted by the dominant male. That woman is Dian Fossey, a primatologist with a very distinct approach to her subject. So special, that her imposing, charismatic appearance and her intransigence make her a target of the local poachers. The film tells the true story of Dian Fossey, her study of gorillas and her efforts to protect the endangered apes.
