When an old truck is assigned to a museum far away, Visnu sees his chance to escape his fate as an employee in his father's hair oil company. Visnu eagerly trades in the family business for a road trip with the old Chevrolet and applies to take the museum piece to its final destination. Once en route, Visnu picks up a few passers-by: a young runaway, an old wandering entertainer and a beautiful gypsy woman. Together they traverse the barren desert in search of water and come into conflict with a gang of crooked cops and the leader of the infamous 'water mafia'. The solution seems to lie in the discovery of an eccentric old film collection and two film projectors in the back of the Chevrolet. Like a story from 1001 Nacht, they buy their freedom by bringing good movies and entertainment. As long as they succeed, they will be spared.
