In a depressing, concrete Parisian suburb of the 1970s, 17-year-old friends Pat and Madjid keep boredom at bay with loitering and petty crime. They meet local residents: junkies, alcoholics and single mothers. The unexpected wealth of an old friend, probably obtained illegally, inspires the boys to act rashly.
