À Deux C'est Plus Facile plot
Joseph, 70, lives in the Paris apartment of his harsh sister Madeleine. She wants to get rid of him, because Joseph hardly pays rent and the house is much too big for him alone. But the old man refuses and turns to the association "It's easier for couples." The idea behind it, under strict conditions, is: young and old live and rent together. The benefits for both sides are simple, the young people are exempt from rent and the elderly, who can afford the rent, live with them. Joseph's roommate introduces himself as Marilyn, is sixteen and attends an artistic makeup school. The young thing is a real challenge for the stubborn retiree.
