Noce Blanche plot
17-year-old Mathilde (Vanessa Paradis) has left the parental home and lives alone in rooms. Her philosophy teacher François (Bruno Cremer) takes care of her fate and proposes to tutor. He goes to her house every day to give her homework and teach her about the arts. Mathilde shows after a while that she finds him very attractive, an idea that François initially resists.

Very mature role for Vanessa Paradis. A sincere but socially unacceptable love between a 17-year-old girl and a 50-year-old married teacher takes a tragic turn here. Brisseau made a romantic, sensitive and well-acted film on the "Lolita" theme.

Typical French product of yesteryear: an erudite adult man gets involved with an underage girl, in this case because she understands the 'human condition' so well. Yes Yes.
Nowadays, this film really could not be made anymore, of course, even in France the morale is completely twisted.
Apart from this, it is a decent, but above all somewhat boring and grayish film.

Remarkable adventure between an elderly teacher and an unstable student. Remarkable in the sense that it is seldom mysterious. Almost the whole village knows about it and the affair is hardly denied even at François' house in the presence of his wife. Given his profession and position of power and her age - after all, she is still a minor - it is very strange that hardly any (criminal) action is taken against this. Moreover, she is extremely unstable, vulnerable and impressionable.
But a nice role by Vanessa Paradis, also by Bruno Cremer by the way. As a nymphomaniac she drives his head crazy, partly due to her high intelligence. But he only becomes completely hearing-crazy when he realizes what she's capable of when she doesn't get her way.
As an addition, some philosophical posturing, which then leads to a most entertaining film. Not the best, but solid.
