Sunset Carson assists his friend Frogg Millhouse, who is transporting supplies to Placer City for the wealthy JB Murdock. Murdock owns a mining materials company and he has a monopoly position with his company. After a horse from a cart of supplies for Murdock runs amok, mining engineer Ned Crane and his fiancée Marjorie Malloy are able to steal these supplies. Marjorie and Ned then supply the miners on 'Round Nugget Hill' with the stolen goods, because they find Murdock's prices too high. The miners desperately need these building materials, because 'Round Nugget Hill' is dangerously weakened. Meanwhile, Murdock, along with the corrupt Doc Lee, has hired gunfighters Hansen and Watson. Sunset and Frogg try to resolve the issues between Murdock, Lee and the miners without bloodshed.
