In this sequel to the movie The Jungle Book, in which we saw the little boy Mowgli who was raised by animals in the jungle, Mowgli has become a young man who longs to return to the jungle to find Baloo again.

Although the original is a lot better, I think The Jungle Book 2 is a nice sequel.
It is all much of the same, but with a new look. Baloo the bear remains fun and Shere Khan is another good villain. The vultures and the snake are fun again, as are the elephants. But still….. it doesn't get as nice as in the original. For example, the scenes with the snake with a stone in its stomach are nicely made up. But the original scenes with the snake with, among other things, a knot in its tail are more fun. In fact, the film is just a bit of a rehash of the original, but nevertheless the film is quite entertaining.
What I do find a pity is that the role of Bagheera is not really that big. That's a shame because he was one of the more important characters in the original. But in this sequel, his role is a bit neglected.
The new songs are a lot less than the original ones. No new song really sticks with you. The instrumental music is also a bit less, but it can continue.
Well. Actually, this is quite a useless sequel that brings little news. Nevertheless, this poor copy of the original knows how to entertain.

A little less fun than I had in mind in my memories....of course I'm a lot older now, but compared to other films from this genre from the same period (or even earlier) this one is disappointing.
Visually even on BR I don't find it that convincing...and the story isn't really fun or exciting either.
Nice songs that are recognizable and also fun for the newer generations.

What a mediocre and completely unnecessary film. A repeat of the first film, without adding anything to it. Had something done with Mowgli who has trouble adjusting in his world (we see at the beginning) or something with a much older Mowgli. Instead, this is just another droll adventure where he reunites with all the old acquaintances. But this time with faintly childish humour, meaningless new songs and an ugly drawing style that lacks any form of individuality. And that happy ending is totally awful. (Compare that to the ending of the first movie that left you with mixed feelings). The only thing this movie shows is how good the original was. 1.0*.
