Genius Within: The Inner Life of Glenn Gould plot
"I'm very much the anti-hero in real life, but I compensate madly in my dreams."
Biopic of legendary Canadian pianist Glenn Gould (1932-1982). Directors Michèle Hozer and Peter Raymont approach the pianist's 'inner life' with a balanced overview of his life and examine the incongruity between his public image and his private life in well-dosed interviews with intimates, friends and colleagues. For example, Cornelia Foss talks about her controversial relationship with Gould at the time, and his personal assistant talks about the last few years, in which Gould pursued a career as a radio producer. The result is an alternative view of the enigma Gould, who could do much more than play an inimitable Bach.
