Pretty nice.

I didn't expect much from it - and it seems to be a remake, so I think the original is better - but in the end I was able to enjoy it quite a bit. In any case, it doesn't take too long and there is enough variety between the high number of characters, so that there is still a certain fluency in the film. The story is quite absurd and so I was glad that Peter Dinklage actually showed up as a key figure. That casting makes it even more interesting.

drowsy.

Typical example of a movie that puts a monster cast in the spotlight but can't do anything with it. It certainly gives some nicely acted roles to the film from actors who can clearly do something with it, but there are also enough characters walking around who can do nothing with their roles at all.

The bad thing about the film is that it has very little direction for 90 minutes. There is some story to it to some extent, but this is barely enough to fill a 45 minute movie, let alone a 90 minute movie. Early in the film, this creates quite a tiring thing that feels very long despite a relatively short duration.

Visually it is all clear and sharp, but also very dull. They planted the camera in a single location and shot with it, but it never feels like a normal textured film. More like a film they made up on the spot, because it constantly feels like no preparation went into it, but expensive material to shoot it with.

Acting from a few roles is still nice, but in principle most of the names play a character that they can play well. Saldana and Hall are very annoying, but the roles of Morgan and Lawrence feel familiar. Hart and Rock disappoint. Play very clearly what they should be good at, but never know how to be really funny.

It's nice for an evening of entertainment, but from a substantive point of view, I found it all just a messy and empty impression. If the jokes don't catch on very well either, you'll soon have a movie to choose from that you most likely won't like. That's the case with me. A film that still entertains but has done nothing for me.
