Love and Death on Long Island plot
The ultra-stiff, intellectual British writer Giles De'Ath gets a real culture shock during a visit to the cinema. Instead of a beautiful, understated literary film adaptation, he accidentally ends up in the terrible weak teen film 'Hotpants College II' starring Ronnie Bostock. When the unworldly writer catches a glimpse of Bostock, he is immediately sold. His idolatry of Bostock takes on unprecedented forms. In his dusty study he ritually watches all Bostock videos and De'Ath diligently cuts all Ronnie articles from the girls' magazines. When he reads that the teen idol in Long Island has a house, De'Ath takes the plunge.
