"Five Confederate soldiers desert, make their way through the Everglades and try to make it to Cuba."

The Civil War draws to a close, but five Confederate soldiers desert and try to escape through the Everglades in Florida to their final destination, Cuba. The venomous snakes, insects and alligators are numerous. The unfortunate men end up in the hell of the swamp through their hell of war. Nature now turns out to be their worst enemy who seems to be plotting against them at every step they take.
