Soul Kitchen plot

Zinos is a troubled Greek bar owner in Hamburg. His life takes a deep dive when his girlfriend Nadine takes refuge in Shanghai. Then it turns out that his customers are staying away and he has to pull out all the stops to keep his tent running. He therefore develops a new business concept, as a result of which he gets out of money worries again. But the love problems remain and in order to be closer to his girlfriend, he puts the bar in the hands of his brother Ilias in charge. However, it is unfortunately quite criminally constructed, so that the concerns do not exactly pass.

Good film about a man who runs his own restaurant, but where things haven't been going so well lately. The story itself is not too much. But the movie is entertaining. A nice fast tempo, a nice soundtrack and it all looks fresh. For director Fatih Akin, this comedy is certainly a change of pace compared to his two previous heavy films.

Nice and fast movie by Fatih Akin, doesn't really excel at anything, but because of the realistic style and certainly regularly a big smile it looked very nice. The life of a failed restaurant owner with a hernia who prefers to be with his wife in Shanghai, and quite a few peripheral matters surrounding it. Nice soundtrack, too, which makes some scenes just a bit better.

I expect a few things from the director of "Gegen die Wand", "Auf der Anders Seite" and "Der goldener Handschuh". Unfortunately, I was still starving here. No heavy social drama, but something light-hearted, although there are also the necessary problems. Often a hit or miss story when a drama takes a comedic turn.

Quarrels and differences of opinion invariably crop up in this frantic comedy with a brisk pace. The necessary clichés pop up around the corner and although I was still looking forward to it in the beginning, the attention ebbed away after half. Here and there some nice scenes such as cooking or the first contact with his brother when he was released from prison.
