Leona Stevenson (Barbara Stanwyck) is sick and bedridden. One night, while waiting for her husband, she picks up the receiver and overhears a conversation between two men plotting an assassination plan. She becomes hopeless as she tries to find out who the victim is so she can prevent the murder.
