Kruimeltje plot
Rotterdam, a winter in the 1920s. Crumb was abandoned as a child. Now he is ten years old. He has to take care of himself for the most part, because he doesn't get along with his foster mother. She only lets him in if he brings money. Crumb has thus become a little rascal. He is now a regular customer of the police. But Kruimeltje keeps hoping that one day his father will come back to take care of him.

A long sit, this Crumble. In which all the clichés are discussed, but that is inherent in such family films. A little more originality was desired (even if it is an existing story).
The acting - also by Ruud Feltkamp - feels unnatural and wooden, just like in almost all Dutch children's films. In addition, the scenes do not run smoothly, but a layer of syrup seems to have been smeared on the floor (by Kruimeltje perhaps?)
A plus is the Christmas feeling, which is realized by the excellent decors and winter decoration.
For children, this goes like a raisin ball. Hence a small 2.5 *

It was nice to see the book made into a movie, but not quite successful.
The acting is again extremely mediocre, with a few exceptions.
In addition, the whole is quite atmospheric, despite some beautiful settings.

Great movie, watched it for the first time at Christmas. Knew the story from the book. When this movie came out I didn't like these kind of movies (seen too many Ciske de Rat). Still, it's nice to see a young Ruud Feltkamp. That's why it's a tight 3*.
