Camino plot
Camino and her mother, father and sister are members of Opus Dei - the controversial Catholic organization whose goal is to raise awareness among people until they are saints. It encourages them to live in accordance with the faith and to contribute to the evangelization of society. 13-year-old Camino lives in Madrid and her life is dominated by a religious school and her pious ideals, but also by her authoritarian mother. When she meets Cuco at the school theater she falls platonicly in love with him. But her happiness is thwarted by severe back pain and severe radiation therapy that eventually leaves her paralyzed and blind.
