What a king movie.

Wonderful parody. The badly dubbed dog, the wrongly edited flashback and the THATS A LOT OF NUTS are the best moments.

Just never bored for a second. At some point you're just in a big laugh that you can't get out of.

4.5*

Many parody films completely miss the point, but Kung Pow: Enter The Fist is a very nice exception to this. In any case, I can still believe that the makers still have a warm heart for the martial arts genre. They do not choose the easy way with oversexed themes and too bland, loose jokes.

It may not be neat to completely cut up Hu Hao Shuang Xing (1976), but the result is very nice. Steve Oedekerk has created a fantastic story around Chosen One, which makes you laugh, howl, and howl because of the deliberately bad and wrong voice overs and crappy cut-and-paste. Big, wide men get squeaky voices and dialogues on the screen are largely filled with strange sounds or sometimes nothing at all. The story is, of course, completely ridiculous. As well as the characters, both those added and the 1976 actors ridiculed by their voice over. That way it's best to enjoy Betty, Ling, Wimp Lo and master Tang. I've never seen Hu Hao Shuang Xing, but I can hopefully assume that the story roughly corresponds to Kung Pow. In any case, this is a fairly simple good versus evil story. Nothing wrong with that, because it's a parody. Kung Pow must therefore be full of hilarity and in my humble opinion it succeeds very well in that.

pinnacle of silliness.

sometimes absurd, sometimes horribly bad.

And after half an hour, the fun wears off.

it says here at the movie info 80 min, but it lasts almost half an hour.

if they could "summarize" it in an hour, that was more than enough.

in the parody genre this is exceptional. I have hardly/never seen such a parody.

sometimes so original. but the corniness is a bit too much of a good thing.

good 2.5 star.
