Just passed.

Because Appaloosa never really gets going. That slow pace is perhaps the biggest clincher. Also a harrowing lack of action makes this a very lukewarm western. In addition, Zellweger has an annoying role as Allie. If that was the intention, then it is counterproductive. But the presence of Harris, Mortensen and especially Irons still glues the pieces. The interaction between the three is worth watching.

Not really bad, but far from good either.

A film that, despite its great cast, never seems to really get going and struggles to the end with a moderate pace. The idea in advance is there with the villain Irons and the two comrades who will put things in order. What someone else considers a film about friendship, I call in this case a loss in peripheral matters and an average film where little actually happens.

All in all a disappointing whole, otherwise solid but also not very noteworthy. On to the next one for me.
