La Stanza del Vescovo plot
A young skipper on Lake Maggiore is hospitably received by a war veteran. The latter tries to hide behind his boasting of heroic deeds, a sad married life and another secret, in which his beautiful sister-in-law also plays a mysterious role. The wife's death as well as the inheritance issues raise further questions for the young skipper and slowly he becomes entangled in the matter. From a curious witness, however, he quickly becomes an unwitting accomplice.
