L'Homme au Cerveau Greffé plot
Franz Eckerman, the victim of a serious car accident, is transported by helicopter to the neurology department of Professor Marcilly, who has developed a technique for brain transplantation with his team. The young man has a broken neck and a fractured skull. Knowing that he himself will soon die of a serious heart condition, the doctor enlists the help of his assistant Degagnac to transplant his own brain into Eckerman's head. The operation must take place in the utmost secrecy, pending the Congress of Neurology in Madrid. Six months later, Marcilly (in Eckerman's body) leaves the hospital. But he determines that he has also partly taken over the personality of the young man and goes to visit Eckerman's wife.
