That's how I like a Star Trek movie 
. No more that endless talk, flat characters, but real people of flesh and blood. even Spock is really interesting now. The only downside is that the bad guys don't come into their own.

Great reboot with a good pace where you don't have to get bored for a moment, but every now and then you have to put your mind to zero, especially when too many coincidences pile up...(the chance meeting with the old Spock on the ice planet, then another by chance encounter with Scotty half a kilometer further, yes...). Nice performances by a well-chosen cast and beautiful sets, especially from the Enterprise itself.
The first half of the film is especially strong when the main characters are briefly and powerfully sketched. In this part the film also seems a bit more animated, after this the emphasis is too much on action. It's a shame that in a Star Trek reboot it was thought that the philosophical nature had to give way to simple action, in order to make the cash register ring enough. A slightly lower budget for a real Star Trek film with more depth would have appealed to many fans, myself included, more. But you have to admit to JJ Abrams that just like with The Force Awakens, with a smooth film, he managed to make a new generation interested. And it remains the best of the 3 most recent Star Trek movies with this cast (up through Beyond).

After watching it for fifteen minutes I knew for sure, I had seen this one before but hadn't marked it on the film sites, looked through it anyway and because it had been several years since I had seen this film for the first time, I did not know the exact course of the film. story.
Jim, Spock and the others that you also see in sequels go after a call from the home planet Vulcan with 6 other spacecraft on the way to see what's going on there. And as often, you have to be careful in the immense space, even now, because they are on their way to something completely different than they suspect!
Fortunately some of them are still thinking.
Beautiful film with a wonderful rating: an 8!
