Star Trek Beyond plot
Captain Kirk, Spock, Scotty, Uhura and the rest of the Enterprise crew have completed two years of their five-year mission. They decide to stop at a Federation outpost to take a break from the work they're doing. There, however, they are attacked by a hostile force called Krall, causing the crew to question the usefulness of their organization.

When the film started I thought for a moment that we would get Disney-like practices, the first scene is quite childish, but luckily it stayed with that one scene and the rest is quite nice. A bit of a standard story but it all looks good with nice action and therefore it never gets boring. In fact, I found it quite entertaining and that's what these kind of spectacular films are all about. The film does what it's supposed to do and that is to entertain.

“Let's make some noise!”
Star Trek Beyond shows what a well-acted cast, who are clearly having fun, can do for a movie. Beyond is basically a standalone film where the crew of the USS Enterprise embark on their journey to the far reaches of the universe in search of new civilizations.
Everyone is back and it is a feast of recognition. Pine, Quinto, Urban, Saldana, Pegg, Cho etc. They all clearly have a lot of fun playing their part. The action scenes also look fantastic and especially the first attack on the Enterprise is a feast for the eyes. Sometimes it is a bit too busy and unclear, but it is all exciting and compelling. Boutella is a great addition as Jaylah and I hope we see her again in the next film. Elba does quite well as a bad guy and radiates power and threat. Compliments also for the cinematography and the music because both are of a high standard. Beyond is a nice third adventure and hopefully there will be many more adventures with this cast.

Noisy.
Lots of tralala and hassle, this Star Trek Beyond. Very simple plot that is the coat rack for a small 2 hours of non-stop action. In a way it might be a good thing that hyped up sentiment is kept to a minimum, but to be served way too much of the same is not a worthy alternative.
The cast is the same as the previous 2 films, there is little to say about that. Then it's time to look out for the villain on duty, Idris Elba. He has a voice that is also gratefully used here, but it doesn't make any sense. Weak bite, his rendition.
A plus compared to its predecessor is that the designs and locations are a bit more original. Justin Lin continues to throw in all the action he can throw at it. CGI is sometimes very good, and sometimes very plastic. As if the characters are not carrying any weight.
